King Salmon Run - Mid May
through July there are 2 runs of Kings. Traditionally the 2nd Run
has larger numbers and larger fish. Still the World Record King
Salmon of 97 pounds was caught on May 19. On the Kenai Peninsula you
are allowed only 2 Kings from the Kenai River and 5 total for the

System. The Salmon and Halibut Fishing on the West Coast of
Vancouver Island out of Ucluelet B.C. and the Barkley Sound area has
picked up dramatically since the beginning of May. Many of the
springs early fish were local feeder Chinook weighing on average ten
to fifteen pounds.

Fishing Reports - We fished the deeper waters with bouncers and weapons. Friday
around Rattle Snake Island drifting toward Niagara. Winds were north
east and pretty stiff. So we took one to two mile drifts. The
walleye were nice size....

coast of beautiful Vancouver Island are decreasing. There have been
some solid high pressure systems build off the coast which have
naturally settled west coast Vancouver Island waters. 9th April
