Maori Cod
(Epinephelus undulatrostriatus) Photographs

Rock cods inhabit rocky reefs, coral and
other rough bottoms offshore in warmer seas.
The body is elongated and compressed. The Maori Cod
has a series of fine teeth. The caudal fin is rounded. The body is a light
shade of brown with narrow golden stripes. The pectoral fin is bright yellow and all
the fins are edged with yellow. It grows to a weight of about 5kg.
